Meetings

Keep Up With the Crowd

SJAC holds two regular monthly meetings, both via Zoom.

The main monthly meeting is at 7:30 pm the second Thursday of each month.  This meeting includes discussion of recent or upcoming astronomical events and any information about upcoming club activities.  Then we have a “roundtable” during which members can share about any experiences/observations and/or display any astrophotographs they have captured.

The second monthly meeting is the Imaging SubGroup.   This meeting occurs at 7:30 the first Thursday of each month.  The focus of this meeting is discussion of all aspects of photography of the night sky, including hardware (mounts, telescopes, cameras, etc.) and software used to “process” captured images into “pretty pictures”.

Both meetings are open to members and newcomers who are exploring the club, and generally last approximately 1.5 hours.

Reminders for these meetings are posted on the club’s Groups.io site and here on this website.
